Good evening, contestants. Welcome to LEVEL CRAWL, the only show where the contestants are the content and the content dies a lot. Nobody's sure how you got here, and the producers aren't taking questions. But here you are, at the top of 18 floors of traps, monsters and sponsor-approved violence, with a very large audience watching. Please smile. Ratings are everything. WHAT YOU GET β’ Hand-crafted 16-bit pixel art: every monster, Delver, item and wall, with its own tileset for every zone, from the Sewers to the Studio itself. β’ Turn-based grid combat. You move, they move. Nobody's rushing you except the floor clock and the audience. β’ Headliners: a boss at the bottom of every floor. Get close and the show cuts to a turn-based battle screen. Running is not an option. β’ COMBO! Set fire to an oiled monster, zap a wet one, shatter a frozen one, splat one into a wall. 23 combos to find, and the crowd loses it every time. β’ 26 species, from Human to Gnoll, Treant, Robot and a root vegetable with a dream. Pick a class on floor 3 and specialize on floor 9. β’ 200+ monsters that don't play fair: thieves, exploding beetles, gelatinous cubes that eat your loot, ghosts of Delvers who didn't make it. β’ 30 spells, 35+ talents and 250+ items: rare and epic gear, enchantments, cursed items, gear sets and things that fell in from other worlds. β’ Odd floors that change the rules: conveyor belts and crushers, a frozen lake, a flooding sewer main, a haunted manor that moves its doors, a space station with cheap airlocks. β’ Every floor is a different episode: Blackout, Speed Round, the Arena, the Heist, the Game Show and more. β’ The host is your tutorial. He explains each thing once, when it matters, then replays your death on air with a tip for next time. β’ Easy mode from your first run. Win once and unlock 10 Ratings, each one stacking a new twist, all the way to Prime Time. β’ Earn outfits, name titles, entrances and starting pets by dying in style. β’ Whatever killed your last Delver comes back as your Nemesis. β’ 300+ achievements, many of them rude. 100 of them on Game Center. β’ A Daily Dungeon (the same run for everyone, once a day) and the Endless Abyss, a dungeon with no bottom and a world leaderboard. β’ Play with friends: up to 8 Delvers, one floor clock. β’ Colour-blind and high-contrast modes. β’ One life. Death restarts the whole run. The audience considers this a feature. Free. No ads. No purchases. Your run saves on your device. Contains swearing, crude humor and cartoon violence. Art: 16-Bit Fantasy and 16-Bit Sci-Fi by Oryx Design Lab (www.oryxdesignlab.com). The original 1-bit look, from the 1-Bit Pack by Kenney (CC0), returns as an unlockable mode.
New Update! Seven gear slots, new items, and a Hub town! You can now wear a Weapon, Head, Body, Back, Legs, Accessory and a Trinket. Cloaks and capes go on your back, shields, gloves and belts are accessories, and two-handed weapons like bows, spears and greatswords now put your shield away. Uncommon, Rare and Epic weapons, armor and helmets have sockets for gems that can be found scattered in the dungeon. There are 138 new items to fit these new gear slots, including twelve armor sets with set bonuses. Your bag has a tidy Equipment section now, and every item shows at a bigger size for smaller phones. The Hub town is open from the main menu. Walk around with other Delvers, bank your gold and show off your pets. Brisket has a card game. Sit at his table in any Rest Stop and play "Rare or Well Done" with the Sponsor Cards you find. No betting (Brisket despises it), and you keep every card. Cards now live in their own Card Case, a checklist of all 52 is available for the collectors out there. Controls have been updated, but previous and additional configurations are available in the settings along with sensitivity sliders for joystick movement. There's a new Explore button under the minimap that walks you to the next spot you haven't seen. Screen reader mode for VoiceOver: turn it on in Settings and the game tells you where you are, which ways are open and what's around you, with buttons to move and act. Fixes: the dungeon no longer goes blank for a few seconds after a floor loads, sending feedback no longer leaves a blank screen, monsters stop blocking the stairs, and lots of smaller fixes. Now get out there and enjoy the show!
