My Tiny fishing game is adorable on the surface. It opens into cute pastel main menu and greeted with a few options. Play, fishing guide, settings and a tutorial button. The game is simple enough... tap to cast your rod. tap when "!" appears then tap/hold to raise your fishing meter to keep the fish inside a little bar you control. Very similar to how games like Stardew Valley play out. If the fish isn't in the bar, you lose line strength. If it is you gain line strength. Fill the bar? Catch the fish. Rinse repeat.

The most difficult thing about this game is suprisingly, losing. I had to lose on purpose to see what would happen. Nothing. You lose the fish and try again. There are 21 total fish, each with their own catch weight. You can view your fishing log to see which ones you've caught and the best weight.
The settings menu provides a way to change the volume and haptics. The only issue I see here is even with the volume set all the way down, it doesn't seem to stop the reeling sound effect. Minor but could cause issues if you need it silent.
My Tiny fishing is very simple. I appeciate the fish "encyclopedia". This isn't something that will keep you entertained for long nor does it provide much challenge but it's cute and easy to use.

Gameplay
Your singular job is to tap and hold a button to raise or lower a bar while keeping a fish inside it. If you fail that's fine, just try again. You are not punished. Catch various fish and record their weights. It provides a small encyclopedia to keep track of your best catches.
Visuals
Simple but cute, pastel graphics. The fishing animations hits the spot. Watch your character cast the line and reel it in. Interface buttons are minimal, nothing fancy but they work and don't clog up the screen allowing you to enjoy the background.
Controls
Again I use the word simple but it really is. Most buttons are slightly transparent. The actual game requires a single tap or hold. The main menu buttons are on smaller however so if you are "fat fingered" it might present an issue. Keeping the bar in the correct spot does take some practice but it's forgiving.
My Tiny Fishing game is cute and looks to be made with love. It doesn't provide deep gameplay but for the collectors out there, the encyclopedia could give you a few solid rounds of fun. This game is likely meant for the younger crowd. It doesn't ask you to pay for anything, completely free. Worth a try or a way to entertain your kids while waiting at the doctors office.
I truly don't understand the Play Store ratings but to each their own. It has valid reviews for gameplay depth and perhaps the ones about "not knowing how to play" came before a tutorial was added (if it was added or users couldn't find it). Either way, I thought it was cute. Not in any way my cup of tea but it does what it does well.
